We had the pleasure to enjoy our first time eating alligator 🐊 and conch. The alligator meat was tender and delicious. I had heard it tastes just like chicken but I can’t say I agree. I couldn’t put my finger on what to compare it to. The texture was similar to calamari(good cooked calamari). I definitely suggest you come try it here! Owner is very friendly and answers all your questions and curiosities about alligator meat. The food was very flavorful. Their coleslaw was 🤤🤤. The conch fritters were really good too. They have different dipping sauces and they were all delicious. Definitely a two thumbs 👍🏽👍🏽up!
The food is spectacular and the service efficient. I would recommend this place to everyone. The gator meat tasted like chicken. The sesame bun reminds of an old time burger joint. The authentic sauce leaves lingering taste make you want to get seconds.
We visited on a Thursday afternoon in late December 2024. The place was completely packed. You go into the store to order and they bring it out to you. We ordered take out so we waited inside but it was super crowded. We saw a couple groups show up and decide to leave after seeing the crowd. We were told 10-15 mins for our food and it definitely took almost 30. We also noticed no matter how many people showed up the gentleman behind the counter told everyone "10-15 mins". That started to annoy me every time he repeated it because the stream of people was constant and we still hadn't gotten our food. All it took was to set realistic expectation and respect peoples time. We had a appointment we were trying to get to and 15 mins would've been fine. We ended up being 15 mins late and felt really bad.
We ordered:
- Gator Bites (good; the minimum everyone should try)
- Gator Caesar Salad (good; not worth price, get something else)
- Gator Sandwich (kids ate it all so I don't know if it was good)
- Mahi Sandwich (good; piece of fish was huge)
- Chicken Tenders (youngest ate them and they looked good)
- Gator Stir Fry (best; this was the one item I'd probably come back for)
All the food was good. They are a bit pricey but there aren't many other options near by. We were headed from the Keys over to the Ernest Coe Visitor Center in the Everglades National Park. The Gator Stir Fry is the one item I would've probably went out of my way to come back to eat.
If we were in South Florida again we would consider stopping here for sure. If you're passing by and you have 30 mins to spare, you won't be disappointed.
Very clean place, food is cook in the moment very fresh and delicious! Have a variety in the menu of course you have to try gator! Fast service nice and friendly staff and dessert A+
Banana fried cheesecake was the best!
Tasty food, great place to try alligator! Just beware of the small portions (comment of a 5’1 Frenchie).
Cool outdoor covered terrace to eat in any weather and good spot for pictures!
