a month agoI came in here after spending 2 nights at LIV. As my initiation to Miami nightlife, this is the spot. There are 7 bars within the complex and tonight we were ushered upstairs where George took care of us. He was attentive, energetic, and welcoming. I’ll make sure to stop here again why I return back to Miami.

a month agoMy favorite bartenders are upstairs, on the VIP side. I haven't had very good service at the other bars but these guys are outstanding. A staple of the beach community, Twist provides a much-needed venue, 7 days a week, we can just be yourself and dance. I've met so many wonderful and interesting characters and I look forward to returning in the future. I am a CIS woman, a huge ally, many family and friends in the LGBT community. We always have a blast when we go 🎶👏🏽💃🏽🪩

3 months agoThe rumors are true… been to this bar multiple times during my vacations to Miami over the past few months and last night was the night when a phone was stolen - my friend’s iPhone. It’s a true shame given the fact that I highly enjoyed this bar. If you plan to visit Twist, make sure you watch out for pickpocketers; and if it does happen to you, make sure you report it to the police. This club needs to be held accountable for what happens inside, especially with these many reports on google.

a month agoGood part of this place is good music and no cover to get in. But they make up for it with the 900% markup (literally) on a single can of Red Bull. Realize a few extra bucks for a can but $10 and over at Twist……..Little extreme I’d say— greed at its finest. Perhaps eliminate way overabundance of security inside standing around staring at people dancing or drinking. Let’s face it , a gay disco isn’t that violent crowd in nature ; so way overkill to have so many Security Tshirt members roaming around staring at clientele like we are a plague. We all believe in safety and understand some drunks cause problems from time to time but suggestion to cost cut and eliminate 50% of the security staff who seem like they don’t even want to be at work to begin with with overzealous judgement attitude parental-like figures judging harmless customers dancing to Lady Gaga. I’m in a gay dance club, shouldn’t have to feel like a county jail watching my every movement.

4 months agoCame down to South Beach to check the gay bars out - it is Nov 6, 2024 and last call for Happy Hour was just called. A friend went to the joyous young bartender and ordered two G&T and was charged $14.00 for the two. I followed behind him and order 2 vodka and DC and 2 Bud Lights. My bill was $44.50. I questioned the bill and the bartender said I ordered 4 drinks (4x$7 = $28) not $44.50 but 2 drinks (2 x $7.00) = $14.00 and 2 beers, I would assume would be less, so I thought $25.00 would cover it. No, he said it was $44.50. I asked again and he turned to the cash and restyled them in and it came to $22.00. I still did not understand that total, but didn’t bother to ask. The music was too loud and I could hardly hear him, no he hear me. He either knew I was a tourist, or assumed I was a rich Asian who didn’t belong or read my bill. No apologies, no blink of the eye from the bartender…..never again, will i go to the Twist.
