in the last weekLet's get through the quick and obvious stuff first--the food is delicious and they don't skimp on flavor or portions. It's a menu that's got a wide range of options and is what you'd expect from a neighborhood spot...but just executed really well. I also use the term "neighborhood spot" lightly, as you are steps from the pristine beaches that Miami, and more specifically Miami Beach is known for. Locals frequent this place and for good reason. Find me a better location for a tavern anywhere in the country.... THAT ALL BEING SAID, the real attraction of this place is the staff and service they provide. Attentive, friendly, and exactly what you want from bartenders and servers. They are rockstars in every sense of the word and while you may only visit once, you'll leave feeling like you've known them for years. Lastly, ask for Sofia and have her make you a spicy Paloma--it was dynamite. Alissa brings the heat behind the bar as well. Both will have you coming back for a second, third, and fourth visit. 6/5 stars.

a month agoBest guac ever!!!! South Pointe Tavern, located in Miami Beach's South of Fifth neighborhood, is a local spot known for its inviting atmosphere. The menu is segmented into "Pirate & Boozy," "Shaken & Refreshing," and "Highballs & Tropical," ensuring there's something for every palate. The food menu features popular items like the Cuban sandwich, praised for its flavor and quality. Patrons appreciate the homely atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind. The gracious staff further enhances the experience, contributing to the tavern's reputation as the "Cheers of South of Fifth." For a dependable spot with chill vibes, solid cocktails, and delicious food, South Pointe Tavern stands out as a top choice in Miami Beach.

a month ago2nd time now. First, pastrami sandwich. Huge, and delicious. Today, prawns. Not enough perhaps but the sauce was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Great service too and a decent choice of (weak) beers.

2 months agoTerrible customer service. Server looks like she doesn’t know what she’s doing here. Doesn’t even present herself, removes our menus after we ordered drinks and an app, (we came for lunch) . It guess this place is more for drinks because they don’t even have fries for their sandwiches it’s just a house salad (extremely small portion) or some a handful of chips ( but hey, it’s Miami🤣). Asked for a burger with salad and one with chips, they both came with a salad and when we mentioned that one was chips, it took them 10 minutes to bring some chips (we were the only table in the restaurant). Also the food got out in 30 minutes , and it was just sandwiches so pretty quick to make. We also asked for a second beer, server forgot about it and we had to ask again and wait more time of course. If you come for a quick bite, there’s plenty other options, it took us one hour and a half to get an app and a quick lunch, terrible service. Food was very good though, so I feel bad that the servers/bartenders don’t put more effort into it.

10 months agoThis place is awesome. Great food! 🥘 i Definitely recommend stopping at this place to share a quick bite. The charcuterie board here is at another level, good cheese and jams and hams. Quality at its best. We had a couple drinks as well , that were good, margarita could have been better but it was still ok. The server was nice. Ambiance is cute , vibrant and the atmosphere invites you to talk and have a nice evening with friends. I definitely recommend this one
