a month agoWe had a wonderful time the place is so beautiful and relaxing. The sunsets were amazing every evening you can relax out by the water with a drink and totally enjoy it. Our room was great very clean and had anything you may need to cook a meal with. Everyone working in the resort was so friendly and pleasant. Helped us find several great restaurants in the area which were fantastic. They keep the grounds so clean and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much plan on coming back this year...

2 months agoWhen it comes to finding a place that feels like paradise, the Kona Kai Resort in Key Largo holds a very special place in our hearts. My husband John and I first discovered this beautiful boutique resort 25 years ago when we honeymooned there. Since that unforgettable trip, Kona Kai has woven itself into the fabric of our lives, becoming a cherished retreat and the backdrop to many of our most meaningful moments. A week there when I was seven months pregnant became our last hurrah before stepping into the wonderful and life-changing journey of parenthood. As the years passed and life grew busier, Kona Kai became our sanctuary—a place to reconnect as a couple and later as a family. Once our boys turned 14, the minimum age to stay at the resort, we began bringing them along, and it quickly became a Thanksgiving tradition. Those family trips, surrounded by stunning views and tranquil waters, remain some of our most treasured memories. As our children grew older and their responsibilities prevented them from joining us, John and I began returning the week after Thanksgiving, carving out time to escape the cold and kick off the holiday season in the most peaceful and rejuvenating way imaginable. Kona Kai is more than just a resort; it is a sanctuary for the soul. Every time we return, we are greeted by beautifully maintained grounds that are lush with tropical plants and flowers. The beachfront rooms are perfect—offering every amenity you could need to enjoy a serene beach getaway. The convenience of paddle boards and kayaks available to grab anytime means hours of fun and exploration in the gorgeous bay, where we’ve been fortunate to spot manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, birds and iguanas. Watching the wildlife has become a simple yet profound joy. The sunsets at Kona Kai are nothing short of magical. They are an event in and of themselves, a moment to pause, sip wine, enjoy cheese, and marvel at the beauty with fellow guests. Each sunset is a reminder of how lucky we are to have found this special place. The dining options nearby are another highlight, with divine seafood restaurants in abundance. Yet, it’s the people who truly make Kona Kai exceptional. Katherine and her team embody warmth and hospitality, making every guest feel not just welcomed but genuinely cared for. Their service-minded approach enhances every stay, and it’s always a joy to see familiar faces and catch up with the wonderful staff. One of our most cherished memories at Kona Kai was renewing our vows there. The ceremony on the pier was nothing short of beautiful, surrounded by the serene waters and the love we have for each other and this incredible place. As I sit and reflect on our most recent visit, the words that constantly come to mind are: “This is perfect.” Kona Kai is, quite simply, the most perfect place we have ever found. It has been the setting for our milestones, our celebrations, and our moments of quiet connection. We feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered this gem 25 years ago and to continue calling it our treasured spot.

a month agoThis place shows you why people love the keys. The grounds are beautiful. We had Mango and it was well stocked and comfortable. There is a little beach area where they have kayaks and paddle boards. Watching the sunset on their deck area is something not be missed.

3 months agoThis place is absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of things to do at the resort with the pool/hot tub and the kayaks and paddle boards. They even have stuff available to grill. The staff are super friendly and the rooms are perfect. The only thing I could recommend to the resort would be to look at getting some sort of rug by the doors to the rooms. There was sand everywhere in our room by the end of the first day. We ended up using a towel to clean our feet off.

2 months agoWhat a great place! Management was very friendly, and anything we needed from housekeeping arrived immediately and more than what we asked for. We needed a couple of washcloths and told them “No hurry". One really nice girl came down to our bungalow in the pouring rain with washcloths, towels and a mat. We had the furthest place from housekeeping. The other nice thing is that it was very quiet, >18 and over. We had the last Suite before the water so everyone who wanted to go to the dock had to go by our place. Very seldom did we know of anyone going past. The grounds were meticulously kept. We were there when it rained a few times. The groundskeepers were very busy keeping everything perfect! Our place had a small kitchen. Wife said, “I’m on vacation, if you want to cook, go ahead, I’m going out!” Luckily, it had a coffee pot. (I like coffee) so I didn’t have to go to the coffee truck. Breakfast was usually right up the road a “High Tides”. Small local place with friendly service and lots of good food. Lunch was at HoBo’s, dinner was at any number of great local places. All in all it was a very nice stay
