My husband reserved a car 4 days ago to pick up this morning at 8am. As soon as he walked in there, he stated here we go again; the same unfriendly lady (Nelly) that he has not seen. Budget did not have the car that I reserved. She stated I made the reservation last night in a VERY RUDE tone and yelling at me and that was the reason. In fact the reservation was made 4 days ago. She stated he had to paid extra. Two months ago, we rented there, they didn’t have my reserved type car and they downgraded him for FREE (no refund). This time around, he has to pay to get a car. Now he will be about 2 hours late where he had to be.
That lady Nelly is too rude to be customer service. The other lady and the manager (gentleman) are great.
Rated a one star because I HAD to choose… do not recommend at all!!! Just go to enterprise it’s a bit more but it’s worth it and at least they have cars available. This company should not be in business.
Worse rental car ever... no customer service, no back up plan, forgot about customer safety, so inrespectful and liaers.
I make a reservation for a Suburban 6 month prior to my trip for December 25th, when we arrived the Albany location didn't have a vehicle available, we ended up on a 12 passenger van dirty, smelling like wet dock and smooth tires ware slip everywhere where we went due to a snow store.
Loose one full day of my vacation calling and visiting all the locations in Albany and Vermond to get a better vehicle for safety.
Till 4 days later we get the Suburban but guess what, smooth rear tires also and slip everywhere we went for the next 8 days... disaster.... insteaf of been better thay become the worse rental car....
Staff at this location are very helpful and friendly. Issue is with corporate l. Only 3 stars because they do not answer the phone. Also because Budget.com and this location have minimal to no communication with eachother. I watched them rent out a vehicle I had pre-paid reserved then they tell me Sorry we don't seem to have that vehicle available.
I updated to 5 stars because the last two experiences here went perfectly. Thank you
I would not use this Budget location, this one is located right on US 1 South Dixie Hwy. I do not recommend it.
I reserved a moving truck on 8/3 for a pick up of 8/27. Had I not checked today, I would have shown up tomorrow morning for them to tell me there is no truck for me.
Apparently, from what I was told, that it states in the Terms and Conditions that a truck may not be available. So even though it is reserved in advance that it means that it’s NOT guaranteed. Maybe this goes for all truck rentals, but to not be told of this or for the location to not inform me themselves, is poor business ethics.
Also, when I call this location it rings then transfers to the National Budget line. When the National line transfers me to this location directly it goes back to the National line. I called this location out for not answering their phone here.
I was also passed around from employee to employee, each telling me that Leon “Paco” the owner would be in and he was never there, nor did he answer his phone when his employee called him.
I ended up calling Uhaul’s 800# and they transferred me to a uhaul location that had the truck I was looking for.
So beware that even though you make a truck rental reservation, in advance even, that it is NOT guaranteed. And if you do use this location and bless you if do, check up ahead of time because they will not inform you if they won’t end up having it.
Again, I will NOT come back.
