The room was absolutely descusting!!!! The bedding was dirty it was soiled with stains and hair. The floor had not been washed and the bathroom was filfy from the floor, to the walls, we had to shower with our shoes on. The bedding and towels were all stained with differnt colours but at least they were clean after we asked for new ones. If I hadn't already paid through booking.com I would have stayed elsewhere. They advertised coin laundry and it is no longer there. Go somewhere else and save your money!
We were evacuees hurricaine Melvin and they were very accommodating to us with our pets. They don't take pets but was ok with it for a night. Thank you it was late and they had a room
Do not book here! Sleep in your car instead! Towels were filthy with major brown and red stains in them. Ceiling was stained with really bad water damage. Bathroom had mouse droppings by the door. The door locks were beaten and battered like the place was broken into or raided a few times. My husband asked for a more secure room and we were denied. We had to rig furniture up against the doors for our safety. While in our room for only 10 minutes there was a knock at the door asking us if we wanted to buy a refrigerator. Huh? Walls were awful.The pics for this motel are VERY VERY VERY MISLEADING. This place was so awful, we slept with all of our clothes on in a chair! We showered in our bathing suits and water shoes! We pulled the linen back on the bed and saw all kind of hairs and what looked like larvae/eggs of some sort. Awful awful awful!!!!!! We had many critters in our room. We wondered how so many were able to get in. I attached pics to show the nastiness of this place and the almost 2 inch gap between the frame and the air conditioner. This place was our last resort because we missed our flight. Sleep outside instead! Not kidding.

If you are looking for a safe and clean place to stay during a trip to the Keys in Florida, I highly recommend visiting A-1 Budget motel.
The rooms are renovated, in good shape, the beds are comfortable and the cleanest we have had during our entire trip through Florida.
Also the manager is a fantastic person, he will do his best to make you feel at home and will give you the warmest welcome!

I usually don't write reviews and wish I know how to upload photos onto here to warn people to never stay at this motel. Once you are checked in there is no refund. After checking in I found live and dead bugs all over the rooms and bed. Don't let their pictures fool you. Everything is old, and nothing works. The girl at the front desk claimed that she didn't know anything, because it was her first day and that there was no manager around. I find it hard to believe for a girl to work alone at the front desk on her first day. In any event, I still lost my money even though I didn't want to stay at such a nasty place. I ended up going to Courtyard Marriott and loved it there. Don't book here, because you will lose your money and have to go somewhere else. They would not refund even if you show them pictures of their rooms with bugs.
