Idk not really too helpful... They gave us a map and coupons which we didn't end up using... They told us at Key West, not to bring a car and that anyone who told is there's free parking was lying to us...
Welp we get to Key West and had no issues parking for free... We just searched public parking on Google maps -- we were willing (and expected) to pay for parking, but we had no issue finding free parking.
They had overpriced magnets and keychains for sale.. typical tourist stuff... Didn't really have any issues here , just that I don't recommend wasting time here if you have a long drive ahead.
Good place to stop as it’s the first “stop” on the Keys. They have public restrooms that you’re free to use! Helpful and friendly staff that can assist with bookings. Some good photo opportunities too right there at the Visitor Center too!
Stopped here 10 years ago and got our pictures in the big chairs. Had to get another set taken. Great place to take a break from the drive down to Key West. They can help you with getting reservations and discounts.
I didn't know where else to go to give a proper review of the Keys. We had a nice time overall. On the flip side, we counted 25 police cars behind trees and in the grass waiting to ticket unsuspecting tourist. The speed limit fluctuates constantly and that's by design. We actually saw a local cop in Marathon and a state trooper a tenth of a mile apart. I can see going after drunk drivers but not people going 5 miles over the speed limit. The locals drive like maniacs and seem to be Immune to the speed traps. Every car we saw pulled over had out of state plates.
Definitely a good stop heading down to the keys. Coupons and discounts available for many things to do and eat on your way to Key West. We even had a free alcoholic drink coupon for a distillery in Islamorada. Thank you.
