I read the reviews here sometime between making my reservation and checking in. I actually thought about forfeiting the money and looking for something else. I'm glad that I didn't. The staff was fantastic and the rooms and property were better than I would expect from a budget motel. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable and everything worked. I saw many mentions of insects and mold. I have stayed in two different rooms on as many visits and have seen no sign of either. This motel does not deserve the scathing reviews that it has received. I will definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced clean comfortable motel room .
horrible experience with this hotel. booked one room with king bed for my family of 4. 2 adults a baby with a pack and play and a toddler and when we went to check in after driving 6 straight hours at 9:30 pm with two under two the DENIED us our reserved room stating there was too many people for one room. we had to scramble to find something else at a late hour, everything else was booked and we had to pay double what we already paid for this room. they couldn’t refund us since it was purchased through another website. they were not empathetic to our situation and only offered for us to purchase an additional room which we wouldn’t have even used. horrible horrible customer service. the hotel had no parking when we pulled in and most of the lights were out or going out. we ended up somewhere better but out of our price range and had to scramble to make it work.
Large room (king bed) and I appreciate the culture with this hotel. I didn't seen any bugs, but even if I did... you're in south Florida, people. Get a grip. Our room was clean, couldn't hear noise from neighbors or upstairs.
You get what you pay for. Pool was cold and dirty. Rooms badly need upgrading. Water system is confusing for a shower. Bed was not comfortable. Vents for heater/AC are severely dusty. Breakfast was blah. We spent the day at a local park where we snorkeled and saw a manatee. Staff was amazing!!!! I would not stay there again. I woke up to a baby gecko in the shower which was amazing because we love reptiles. We left by 8 because I'm pretty sure that hotel room was a health hazard. Paying an extra $50-100/night at a different hotel is totally worth it. So many better options.

Check-in was quick and easy, but check-out was less than ideal. I left around 6:30, maybe 7, which was apparently too early for them, as the office was closed. It meant that I was never able to properly check out, thus their $100 deposit was never removed from my credit card, so I had to call them afterwards to get that cleared up. Annoying.
The pool was quite dirty, with bird feathers everywhere. It seems like they were in the process of cleaning it when I went in, but I wasn't told NOT to go in.
As with everything on Key Largo, the location is car-centric hell. If you'd like to get anywhere on foot or by bike, be prepared to be anxious as hell and be right along cars blazing past at 40+ MPH.
