This park is nice looking, has picnic tables alongside the canal, lots of shade but no real parking. Use your best judgment on the shoulder. The park is always closed, but you park, you can walk in. The grass is usually unkempt, mosquito galore, but if you tough it up, you can have a nice picnic. Across the street is a make shift ramp. Use at your own risk. Probably best for canoes & kayaks. The canals don't go anywhere, but are visibly pleasing. Bring your fishing rods, fish everywhere. Trails on opposite side of the canal, good for walks & biking. Pay your entrance fee at Everglades Nat'l Park entrance, a skip away, for way better trails & what not.
Im glad this park is here and dedicated to one of the best guys I have ever known. Go there and realize you are in the shadow of a very good man, and he did love the Everglades. RIP Glenn
