Considering the fact that it's in a really seedy part of town in Homestead and the clients are not the greatest. The staff is a nice person and the room is clean, a.c. works good, bed is comfortable and room is bug free! She provided us with a small fridge and a microwave that made our stay better than some of the big name places. I would consider staying here again except the neighborhood will prevent me from returning.
Owner is cool and relatable. Just needed a quick 3 night stay before moving into my apartment. First room had power issues but they quickly resolved the problem and the maintenance lady cleaned out a better room for us. No to mention the maintenance lady is a hard worker and I hope she is getting paid well!! She can get into more upscale hotels if she really wanted to, very talented, hard working and kind hearted. She will help you with whatever you need. I hope she finds her real calling ❤🖤❤...all in all not to fancy, could use some renovation, it's clean as it could possibly be for an old motel. A little loud thought the day but no one is a bother.
Both locks were damaged. The deadbolt wouldn't lock and the knob wouldn't unlock. It took calling the police to make them reopen my door for me.
The toilet seat wouldn't stay up unless the lid on the tank was shoved back. The pests are incredibly bold. There is nothing like taking a piss and feeling roaches crawl between your toes. Which was almost as demoralising as using a lavatory with no door or shower curtain.
Also the window curtains don't close unless you tie them shut, there's termite damage, the moldings are peeling off the walls and there was a nausea inducing chemical smell that reminded me of things my Science teacher advised against touching. It seemed to come from everywhere and never went away.
Best of all the smoke detector needed a new battery, so it chirped all night and the clerks was a raging (just choose a body part really) to me. When she finally dragged her sorry butt to the window to disregard my complaint about the light fixture with one empty, dangling socket and another socket that held a broken bulb, she angrily rolled her eyes and groaned, 'Just don't f-ing touch it.
This hotel deserves to be shut down permanently due to solicitation drug users prostituting xcetera the the manager scams you out of your money only if the owner new half the things he the manager dose in the hotel his ass would be in jail. I've heard him tell one of the prostitutes that every customer/date that you have you have to give him $10 which is wrong to me it seems like he's trying to be in under the table pimp. Not only that he kicks me out of the hotel and told me to take whatever I can and don't come back just because I knew way too much information with what he's doing not only that when I came back he told me they had to pay him $40 to take my stuff out of my room.
