Where to start- I first took my kitten there because she had sores on her body that I thought were likely ringworm related. The room we were taken into was not clean at all. My cat was looked at and confirmed ringworm. The doctor then went to work on another dog in the waiting room and didn’t wash his hands. My cat has ringworm and you were just touching her. Also let’s circle back to the fact that they were working on a dog on a desk in the waiting room. The doctor seemed drunk or on something to me. I know it’s the keys and there is a level of “it’s the keys” with many businesses but this was a little shocking considering it’s a doctors office for animals and he had just completed an amputation on another cat.
Fast forward a few weeks and I have to go back for her last round of kitten shots. I walk in for my scheduled appt to be told “oh yeah the doctor isn’t here today. He injured himself over the weekend”. It’s Thursday folks.. 4 days past the weekend. No call, no notice and no offer to reschedule me for another date. What a joke.
The only reason I was going to this place was because they have a contract with the shelter in town to those initial services were provided with the animal adoption.
I have had pets my entire life and have been to numerous vets across the country and have never felt so poorly about one as I do this place.
I would not recommend to anyone.
Beware - they lied about a diagnosis. The doctor kept overlooking the lesion in my cats ear (like I would point to it, multiple times, and he didn’t see it/looked past it.) I genuinely don’t think he was sober. There were also other signs that he wasn’t sober. It was very obvious. Then he lied about a uti/crystals in her urine. I know he lied bc when I couldn’t get her to take the medication I brought her to a different vet and they confirmed there was no uti and ZERO crystals in her urine. They correctly diagnosed the very obvious lesions in her ear. She was so stressed out while I tried to no avail to hold her down to give her the medication animal care clinic had prescribed and it turned out she never even needed it. Also, the place was FILTHY. It was almost laughable. Thank god I didn’t return to them. I’ve now heard many similar stories around town about Animal Care Clinic.
The team here is all about service, not upselling and corporate profit. Routine checkups and vaccination are efficient and well priced. Dr. Bailey is also USDA certified to inspect your pets for international travel. If you are traveling with your pets to the Bahamas they know all the requirements. Give them a call!
We rescued a beautiful little Maltese recently and upon adoption through Humane Society we were sent to this Veterinary Clinic for her check up, which was done thoroughly and professionally by staff and Dr Bailey. We learned from the exam that this 9 lb, senior pup had her jaw broken at some point when she was apparently being used for breeding. Our poor baby will be spoiled for the rest of her life after apparently being misused for years!
I have a little Yorkie that needs daily fluid treatments due to Kidney Disease. We had a week vacation in Key Largo and I was referred to Animal Care Clinic by another Vet in Key West. When I contacted them they were extremely helpful and set up her appointments for our upcoming visit. I took my little girl to them every day for her treatments and they were wonderful. The technicians gave exceptional care to both my little girl and also to me. I highly recommend this Vet practice and I will definitely use them again whenever we are in Key Largo.
